In May this year, the Canadian Solar Yangzhou New Energy Base successfully completed the landmark achievement of its first phase project - the grid connection and commissioning of the 23.9 MW distributed photovoltaic project. The project is fully responsible for the elite EPC team of the Canadian Solar Garden Distributed EPC, covering one-stop services from careful design, rigorous construction management, efficient power supply procedures and acceptance, to comprehensive after-sales operation and maintenance. The project cleverly uses the roof space of the factory, not only injecting strong green energy power into the photovoltaic storage manufacturing field of the Canadian Solar Yangzhou Industrial Park, significantly improving its green production level, but also actively promoting the optimization and transformation of the local energy structure, setting an example for the application of renewable energy, and contributing important forces to the sustainable development of the region.
The project uses the idle roof space of buildings such as the battery slicing workshop, warehouse and carport in the Canadian Solar factory in Yangzhou to lay solar photovoltaic modules. This project adheres to the pragmatic design concept of "optimizing layout and precise absorption", and strives to maximize the use of solar energy resources without affecting the original building functions.
The total paving area of the project reached 130,000 square meters, and 40,892 large-size and high-efficiency monocrystalline photovoltaic modules of the Canadian Solar brand 182 and 210 were installed. These modules provide a solid energy foundation for the project with their high conversion efficiency and stable performance. At the same time, the project is also equipped with 68 Canadian Solar CSI-320kW inverters, which efficiently and reliably convert the direct current generated by the photovoltaic modules into alternating current for supply to the grid.
The entire system consists of 12 power generation units, and the design and commissioning ensure stable and efficient operation. Together, they constitute a photovoltaic power station with a total installed capacity of 23.9MW, providing green and clean power support for the Canadian Solar Yangzhou factory, and also contributing to the optimization of the local energy structure.
The photovoltaic module frame selected for the project innovatively uses glass fiber reinforced polyurethane composite materials. This frame shows significant superiority. Its excellent tensile strength reaches the high standard of 600 to 1100Mpa, ensuring the stability and durability of the module in harsh environments.
In addition, the composite frame also has a series of remarkable characteristics: it has no plastic deformation and can maintain a stable shape even under long-term stress; it has excellent insulation performance, effectively isolating the direct contact between the current and the frame, improving safety; it has a low thermal expansion coefficient, reducing the dimensional changes caused by temperature changes and enhancing the stability of the components; it has strong corrosion resistance and can maintain the same performance in a variety of complex environments, extending the service life of the components.
More importantly, this composite frame is low-carbon and environmentally friendly. Its production process and the material itself meet environmental protection standards, reducing the burden on the environment, which is consistent with the original intention of the project to promote the development of green energy.
All the electricity generated by this project is first supplied to the factory area for production and use, achieving 100% self-sufficiency, significantly improving the clean energy self-sufficiency rate of the Yangzhou Artes factory. Based on Yangzhou's abundant sunshine resources, the distributed photovoltaic project is expected to generate a total of 556.31 million kWh of electricity and create a total income of approximately RMB 504.63 million during its 25-year operation period. At the same time, this green energy project will effectively reduce carbon emissions by 485,000 tons. Its environmental benefits are equivalent to planting approximately 26.508 million trees, making a positive contribution to environmental protection.
