Oil Leakage Conditions and Treatment Methods for Core Laminations
Oil leakage in core laminations manifests in various forms, so treatment methods should be determined based on specific conditions. The fuel injector is a precision component. If the engine uses unclean diesel or has been in service for a long time, oil return may occur due to the wear of the fuel injector.
However, since replacing a fuel injector is expensive and uneconomical, the returned oil can be redirected to the fuel tank through a return pipe or routed to a diesel filter to prevent wastage. If the return pipe is damaged, a section of plastic pipe can be used to guide the oil into a separate container, where it can be filtered before being poured back into the tank.
Secondly, oil leakage in the fuel delivery system can be handled appropriately based on the specific situation: If the washer on the hollow screw of the fuel pipe is uneven, it can be removed, ground flat, and reinstalled. If this does not resolve the issue, the washer can be replaced with a new one, or a thicker soft plastic material can be cut into a replacement gasket.
Oil leakage at the joint between a plastic fuel pipe and a metal connector is mostly caused by the hardening or cracking of the plastic pipe. The hardened or cracked section can be cut off, and the remaining pipe can be softened with hot water. While still hot, it can be fitted onto the metal connector and securely fastened with metal wire. For a cracked metal fuel pipe, the broken area can be repaired using copper brazing. Additionally, to prevent the fuel pipe from cracking during installation, the bending angle should be appropriate; it should not be forced into place, and the pipe body should not come into contact with the engine block to avoid wear.
When installing the valve cover, excessive tightening force can easily cause it to deform and leak oil. In this case, the leaking valve cover should be removed, carefully hammered and reshaped with a wooden stick to restore the flatness of the contact surface. Afterward, a new gasket can be applied before reinstalling it. Different parts of the core laminations require different treatment methods for oil leakage, and care must be taken during the process to avoid causing damage to the machine.
